I tell you, there's nothing like the first wet, rainy, 40 degree ride of the winter. The fun part comes after the ride, as you survey your gritty, mucky bike, the bike you just washed yesterday. The fun part is peeling off all your layers of weather gear, making sure you don't fling bits of wet road all over the place, and checking out the parts of your skin that had only one layer on. How do you know? They're the parts that are pink, pink, pink from the cold, cold air as it hits your wet, wet, shorts and soaked, soaked socks. Brisk, baby! Also, kinda not so fun since it's been about three weeks since I last pedaled anything, and I have to work back into form, while working out all the vacation and holiday food, snack, and adult beverages. Yeah, the lungs didn't like sucking down all that cold air either after a long break. Fun!
