The old gate to Maple Land bursts open and out comes the notorious pirate Ironbeard. The staff of Amagi Brilliant Park counterattack, gaining new staff and a new water park attraction.

Heh.

This is classic comedy adventure stuff right here.

Before I get any further: Bikini Pirate Isuzu. Bikini Pirate Elemental Fairies. Bikini Princess Latifa. We'll get back to these very important points later.

Sea lions and an elephant seal deathly afraid of sharks? Even hand puppet sharks? Who could ever be in charge of these guys after they've been captured?

A shark mascot named Jaw. Of course he is. Just don't get him wet.



It's good to see the A, B, C girls get put to work so quickly. And having A-ko (A-girl, Eiko) narrate the dialog of the animal mascots was a great touch, alluding to her past work in AV, Animal Videos.

It does appear that Seiya's best weapons are of the garden and maintenance tool variety.



Isuzu doesn't need to practice smiling anymore. She just needs to think of Seiya acting cool and rescuing everybody.

That's not a pool full of tentacles. That's a pool full of sea anemones!



How are Moffle and Macaron ever going to trust the traitor Tiramie again?

Ironbeard was definitely a formidable foe.



Dual wielding scimitars and holding off Moffle with his tail; that's battle experience. Still, he was no match against a shark cannonball and strawberry syrup.

Geh.

Bikini pirates? Bikini pirates.

Instead of a ranger show at the water park, you need bikini pirates.

Hnnng... looking so good, Isuzu is making Seiya fall in love with somebody besides himself. That's good looking!

Sylphy still needs to bring her airheadedness to the show, practicing tai chi with shark hand puppets. Totally random, yet not so random, since it provided a nice clue to the audience on how the sea lion pirates were going to be defeated. It was as if we saw a stylized version of one of these ranger stage shows. Well written meta comedy right there.

Nice thigh high swash buckling boots. Like Tricen, I'm writing this post hunched over...

Since this is Isuzu we're watching, she wouldn't be complete without drawing out her musket.

All the girls wore much better fitting and stylish bikinis than in that very exploitive commercial shoot we saw earlier. Although, I dunno, Isuzu still looks great in anything, or nothing at all. Hunching over again... Even Latifa wanted to see the new pirate show, and came to the water park appropriately dressed.



Very cute. And then they had to make her look like Princess Leia by chaining her up next to the big elephant seal Ironbeard. Throwing in a Jabba the Hutt reference: two big thumbs up while hunched over.

Finally, we have a bit of an Isuzu omake in the spoiler eye catch for the next episode.



Is this someone in an Isuzu disguise? If it's Isuzu, what could be the circumstances to draw her into asking Macaron to check her appearance? I'm leaning toward the magic disguise thing.

Hmm.

This episode was fun and sexy and funny all the way through. From introducing Jaw the shark, and his weird trait of looking like a real shark when he's wet, and then throwing in all Jaws references afterwards, it was just consistent and enjoyable.

Also, we got a good explanation of how the Maple Landers moved stuff over from their own magical dimension, with a now open entrance to this land. All these little things thrown in to give our story more depth is always welcome, and doesn't seem stapled on at all.

Seiya and Isuzu seem to have discovered they like looking at each other, so we see the passage of time, besides just the attendance totals at the end of the episode.

Just last week, we saw the park take in over 8000 people in one day, but 5 days later, it's not even 700. I wonder if that's a discrepancy between a weekday and a day on the weekend. Whatever the case, with only 30 days to go, they still need about six thousand people coming in everyday to meet their quota.

With one month to go, it's a good time to reintroduce the face of the enemy, and let us know that they've been paying attention too. The preview of next week says "Not Enough Love," so this might be an Isuzu chapter tied in with the Maple Land fairies needing popularity to survive. It's not just paying the bills that this particular park has to worry about. It's also making sure people are thinking about the Maple Landers to keep them from disappearing.
