Majimoji Rurumo - Episode 10
On a class trip to a famous hot springs region, the Occult Club finds a magical spring. Kouta becomes a wolf after drinking the water, but Rurumo changes him back.
Heh.
More episodic comedy, this time Kouta going crazy over a mixed hot springs bath.Of course, the Occult Club can't go anywhere without finding some mysterious place in the woods that will cause all sorts of trouble. Instead of a magical swimsuit that turns Rurumo into a bold maiden in love, we got Kouta turning into a wolf. He gets better.
Chiro went a little crazy in the mixed bath too. Maybe having a chance to get naked in human form gets her all full of excited energy.
With all the different kinds of baths this spa has to take advantage of the hot springs, Chiro has to try them all.
All that heat without enjoying it responsibly nets the expected result.
Speaking of netting the expected result, we definitely expected Kouta to go on the rampage with the mixed bath equivalent of flipping a skirt: yanking a towel.
Hah! Kouta blocked! And Kouta thought he had found his paradise. He thought he was a winner!
Can you tell that the author of the manga also does Yowamushi Pedal? It's a little subtle...
Hmm.
We saw some more nuance on how the magic tickets work. You don't have to rip one out to invoke a wish, you just have to make a pure wish for something you want wholeheartedly and the ticket ignites.Rurumo also pointed out something about the wolf transformation: Kouta would have eventually lost his mind. His soul/mind/heart would have been the last thing to change into a wolf part, and then it would have been impossible for Kouta to wish for anything. It's a good thing Rurumo could recognize her contracted employer no matter what he looked like.
I wonder what it meant that Chiro looked on the scene with Rurumo and Kouta from afar, but didn't want to approach. Did she see that this was also a private moment between those two and didn't want to intrude? Chiro has always been protective of Rurumo and wants to see her grow, so maybe this bit of intimacy was something Chiro wanted Rurumo to have.
Character development happens slowly in this show, but it does happen. It still feels too episodic, but if that's the goal, because these magic tickets are going to take a long time to use up, then at least we can rely on continuity. As long as we get the Ero King getting into fan service mischief along the way, I can appreciate the episodes that seem like one-offs.
