Akame ga Kill! - Episode 7
General Esdeath begins her operations against Night Raid. Night Raid targets her squad back. Bulat meets his former commander now working for Esdeath.
Heh.
General Esdeath wants to know passionate love... The shocked looks on the Prime Minister and the Emperor were classic! The Emperor recovered quickly, even offering his close advisor as a candidate. Hah! Besides the comedic value, the little exchange shows the emperor is more than a puppet for the Prime Minister.Aw. Akame has a soft gooey center when it comes to mourning Sheele. She explains it as turning on a switch to go into kill mode. This was a good humanizing moment for our kuudere assassin.
And then she goes back to strange cool girl chomping on Lubbock's hand when offered a Calorie Mate Block, er, some kind of fantasy land food bar in a wrapper.
Hey Bulat, why you gotta hit Tatsumi so many times while you're invisible?
He did it for love, love, love... Still need to have those yaoi overtones.
That Prime Minister is pretty crafty. Using Esdeath to kill his political opponents to pin the blame on Night Raid and draw them out. Totally win-win, net-net. Well, that's if Esdeath's crew is actually better than Night Raid.
Oops, one of them is not better than Night Raid. I keep forgetting that people actually die in this show even when given some character development. We didn't get a chance to find out why Daidara kept going on about gaining experience, but I don't think he's coming back from being chopped in two.
Oh man, was that a death flag on Bulat when he told Tatsumi to watch how he fights?
Geh.
Leone is still mai waifu. Was she watching over Tatsumi when he and Akame had their meeting in the dining room?
Hmm.
I'm very curious what Esdeath's requirements for the perfect man for her love. Of course, passionate love is not very rational, so that's going to end in disaster, but for whom? Her or her lover? And wouldn't that be a hoot if those requirements fit Tatsumi? We'll see how that turns out. This was kind of a transitional episode as we adjust to the new normal without Sheele, death becomes much more real for Tatsumi, and the new villain and her crew fill out the story. It looks like Bulat is going to get his featured episode as we find out what happened to General Liver to turn him into a loyal assistant to Esdeath. Seeing Bulat with normal hair (for an anime character...) will be a nice change of pace too!
