Public Safety Crew 4 plays bodyguard for a popular idol promoting the rail system. Creepy fans and obsessed stalkers keep them busy. Beach and hot spring episode combined!

I think the Station Chief would be ecstatic if Aoi and Haruka joined Noa-sama in a Railways Idol Group.



Fan club member No. 7 should have some pull, no?

Aoi even makes sure to wrap a towel around her to give her someplace to put her baton. Otherwise, where would she put it... Oy, this is not that kind of show!

It's just a given that idols will have pushy fans and stalkers who make physical threats. What kind of society has Japan devolved into? For shame!

The T n A show continues to impress. Even Noa's manager makes a boring pantsuit very interesting.



Trains aNd Anime! Rail Wars! has a signature shot now. Boob or butt segue into next scene out-of-focus. Hmm, new drinking game? Better not. Alcohol poisoning in only 24 minutes is a bad thing.



Takayama is adding to his harem through acts of bravery. That's good. But falling down and losing consciousness a lot is a sign of lazy harem writing. Let's try to do better than that.

Nana makes sure Takayama doesn't interrupt Noa's important speech about honoring the stage. And then she just turns his head, Like A Boss. Teaching her subordinate not to freak out in the presence of teh hawt, Like A Boss.

Geh.

I'm worried. Rail Wars! combined the beach episode and the hot spring episode into one, and only in the 4th episode. Is the actual overarching story going to be so involved that we won't have a fanservice episode by number 7 or 8? Or is every episode the fan service episode...

Wait, wait, wait. Haruka sleeps in the nude? This changes everything!

Aoi and Haruka chose functional swimsuits for their patrol work.



But Nana does everything Like A Boss, so anything she wears is functional!



Aw, they didn't have Manager-san put on a swimsuit or relax in the spa.



The episode spared our health by making sure Nana got into the individual hot bath so we could only see her from the neck up. There would not have been enough steam in the world to cover her up... Noa doesn't seem to care about steam, though.



Is this show going for the barbie doll style nudity like they did in Kill la Kill? If so, I hope they're consistent with it.

Hmm.

I'm all for fan service shows exploring pop culture idiosyncrasies through comedy and implied nudity, but I would like it if they also developed their characters along the way. If the show is not supposed to be plot-heavy, then characterization through normal situational comedy will have to be the show's meat. We seem to have skipped over a few of the main characters to have new characters bounce off Takayama to show what a good guy he is, even if he is odd with his train nerdiness. Iwaizumi, the other guy, hasn't done anything except sleep, eat, punch a bad guy, and carry a bad guy. Oh, at least we found out his father is ultra-prepared from the kind of first aid kit Iwaizumi carries. But if his role is just to be the other guy, that's fine too.

Perhaps we don't have an overarching story for this season, and just have an extra long episodic story for the last few episodes? That makes this show almost exactly like You're Under Arrest. That was also entertaining, and the characters never really grew either, just more back story got filled in. Huh. Episodic anime. Do they even do that anymore?
