Akame ga Kill! - Episode 4
Akame and Tatsumi hunt for the serial killer who uses one of the Imperial Arms. Tatsumi holds his own, but Akame finishes the kill.
Heh.
We're still in the middle of world-building, so we're still doing Big Bad of the Week. That's okay, since the target is a serial killer using one of the Imperial Arms each of the Night Raid members have. This makes for a good vehicle to explain their origins and a bit how they work.It looks like the Emperor and the Prime Minister are ultimately responsible for the serial killer. The executioner went insane from all the new massive amount of capital punishment he had to dish out.
Akame must have a very high metabolism. She never stops eating!
Najenda explains how all the Imperial Arms work that Night Raid has, but she doesn't mention her own. And with how Tatsumi fights, maybe his sword is one too, but he doesn't realize it?
Bulat's armor can blend into the background? Maybe Tatsumi has to be a bit more alert for "aniki's" whereabouts.
Still good: Tatsumi mourns for his friends and still considers Sayo the one he loved the most, but doesn't mope about it.
Geh.
Leone is still mai waifu.I wonder if that belt gets more powerful the less clothing the wielder wears. I mean, Mine's Pumpkin gets more powerful the more danger she's in before she shoots it, so... Or maybe Leone just likes strutting her stuff. Either way is fine by me.
Apparently, Akame only knows how to make rice bowl dishes.
And she wears very sporty underwear... I like how she admits her sword is very stressful to own because of the poison. Even cleaning it is a life or death struggle.
Hmm.
With 2 seasons slated for this show, it's all right that it's taking its time in fleshing out the characters, giving us some action, spreading the comedy around, and giving us clues about the wider world as Tatsumi goes on assassination missions for Night Raid. I'd like to see him actually send some money home to his village, instead waiting for the uncertain payout of the revolution toppling the corrupt prime minister and the sociopathic emperor. The story of the original emperor who commissioned the 48 Imperial Arms a thousand years ago doesn't exactly explain why they can't make new ones. Gathering the best and brightest minds and the best materials means it could happen again, right? I guess we'll eventually hear the story of the civil war that ended up scattering the military artifacts, and how the current emperor is using his own collection to keep his reign of terror going.
For now, it's going to be Night Raid member of the week teams up with Tatsumi to fight the Big Bad of the Week. As long as they keep bringing the comedy, action, and sexy times, it will still be a fun ride.
