Five minutes to explain 1 second of action. Fun characters everywhere in school. The BAMF show continues at the kendo exhibition.

Geh.

Tatsuya is going to take on the entire kenjutsu club for taking down their captain. How BAMF was this takedown? This BAMF.

Bad. Ass. Mother. Fucker. First off, he's using two CAD's, basically the technological equivalent of a wand and incantation all in one. In this world, magic has a quantum particle known as a psion that magic users can sense. This is how Tatsuya incapacitated Hattori in his duel: by smacking him with positive interference from three psion waves. Here, he takes down the kenjutsu club captain with one CAD to disorient him, and the other CAD to cancel out his offensive weapon spell. Supposedly, someone can't use two CAD's at the same time. Supposedly...

The other kenjutsu club members couldn't stand that a Weed had done this to their captain, and that he had called for a stretcher. Hah. Tatsuya seems to be playing with them because the threat of the sonic blade was already dealt with, and he's now in prevent mode. The kendo captain seems more than curious to see how this is going to end up before the other disciplinary committee guys show up.

We've been getting a lot of gar attention for Tatsuya and his BAMF show, so I suppose we need some Miyuki fan service. To, you know, keep our wandering attention.

Okay, I'm now paying attention... This is how Miyuki trolls her brother back with the incest jokes. Tatsuya has CAD calibration equipment in his room (!), and the more skin in contact with the machine, the better. I guess. This whole scene's purpose, exposition wise, was to show us Tatsuya's physical backup copy of himself if he takes too much damage. It also shows us how powerful Miyuki is, and that her CAD looks just like a cell phone, instead of the guns that Tatsuya has.

Heh.

Almost all of the characters are nice, and funny. We've got scenes of the VP Hattori trying to show his best face to Mayumi the president, and he apologizes to Miyuki for his nepotism remark. A one second beat down will instill some humility. Part of how the practical magic tests don't test for Tatsuya's abilities is that he can add multivariable equations into his spell commands, which is one of the ways he is m4xx0r, while the tests only look for scale, speed, and changing area of effect. Tatsuya can add in all sorts of things specific to the kind of spell he wants to cast, such as different frequencies on psion waves to cause maximum positive interference right on Hattori's head.

Speaking of fun characters, we have Azusa the CAD geek.

She knows a lot about the mysterious engineer who created the loop casting system their CAD's all use, and a lot about the uniquely modified guns that Tatsuya has. But Tatsuya does all the mods and calibrations on his own equipment... Wait a minute... I'm beginning to think we have yet to explore all the ways our BAMF is so totally BAMF.

I also like how Mari treats her disciplinary squad mates. Death by rolled up piece of paper! She's trying to instill a sense of egalitarianism in her hand-picked staff, so I wonder what it means that the faculty recommendation is the most prejudiced one we've met so far, Morisaki.

Eh?!

Erika kicked Tatsuya right in the shin, and he just blinked? What the hell is he made of? Oh, right. BAMF material.

Hmm.

We're getting hints of they mysteries surrounding Tatsuya, such as his physical backup copy, and his relationship to the mysterious magic engineering inventor known as Taurus Silver. One of the tenets of sci-fi is that sufficiently advanced technology will look like magic to less advanced cultures. Somehow, Tatsuya is making using magic look like magic to the magic users. That's a neat trick.
