Blade and Soul - Episode 6
We finally meet the little dog boy who talks at the end of each episode. The Palam Empire has many factions, and some don't like the Flower Monks. Hazuki joins the Pleasure Gang, sorta.
Heh.
So that's the little dog boy's deal. We've been seeing this little guy Yuu giving us a review of some of the things and people we seen in the show, as well as introducing the preview. He's the last student of Aruka's master and has a blue power that appears to be the opposite of the impurity that Jin Varrel uses. Those poor saps who tried to foment a rebellion were played by the Palam Empire from the start, even when they thought they were dealing with agents from a neighboring kingdom.
Those guys using the blue flower drug are still no match for the real deal.
Hazuki will work with the Pleasure Gang if they pay her in alcohol, but she will absolutely not wear the spikes. No spikes!
Geh.
Yu Lan seems very talented...Did she learn those, uh, techniques from her royal tutors?
Meh.
Dan Loana recruited more dudes for her reborn Pleasure Gang. I hope they're not as dumb as the originals.Hmm.
We were shown some very evocative things from Jin Varrel's perspective. It appears that she battles a pure version of herself whenever she attacks someone with her impurity power. Also, we see she has many of those purple rashes that Aruka had when Jin attacked her, and the pink butterfly mark absorbed the dark smoke. And Jin seems to have the same cut on her hand that Aruka got from catching her blade from the angry boy who was taking care of her with his sister. Are Jin and Aruka still linked in some way? Are there consequences to Jin if she doesn't kill her target infected with the black smoke? Perhaps we're beginning to see the reasons the Flower Monks went after the Sword Clan.Aruka was not involved in this story plot wise at all, but that was a smart decision. We were given a lot of information about the Palam Empire and their growing concern about how powerful the Flower Monks are, and the quickest way to tell it was to get the main character out of the way. It worked out well, but what is Aruka doing on the coast? She seems aimless now, especially with how she got hired by that self-righteous lunatic last episode.
Elle Karen looks like she's worried about Hazuki seeing her kill someone, and gives Dan Loana a flash of anger at her talk of revenge. She almost let slip her mask of the calm sophisticated innkeeper. There might be some development here where she'll have to choose a side, instead of taking advantage of the economic situation in the Palam Empire.
We need more Aruka! She didn't really have a lot of screen time last episode, and almost none at all this time. Hopefully they make up for it in the beach episode. It's about that time in the season for it, right? Whoops, wrong genre...
