The theme for Saiba and Souma's bout was the Five Grand Cuisines and Saiba immediately began cooking using all the implements he won from the chefs he defeated. Souma sat around for a bit and finally decided he'll just need to make five dishes. What!? Meanwhile, Erina had a family reunion with her grandpa and her father.
Azami Nakiri brought the same Bookman judges with him we saw during the Rebel Arc. Courage and Decora enjoyed very much Saiba's pot pie dish of the Five Grand Cuisines. The ravioli was the defining feature of his fusion meal.
Mana was confident Saiba's dish wouldn't make her nauseous. While everyone else suffered foodgasms, Mana manifested the Nakiri Gifting and stripped the clothing off the spectators in the viewing area, but not the culinary students. Erina wondered how Souma was going to defeat such a dish.
Souma shocked everyone by unveiling his dish as common looking fried rice. Jouichiro smiled because he knew his son honored his mother with the only dish she could cook. The judges were unimpressed because there was no aroma bomb and they felt full from Saiba's dish, but as soon as they took one spoonful, they couldn't stop eating. The secret was that Souma coated every single grain of rice with a layer of fried egg, turning each one into a rice omelet flavor grenade.
This show finally admitted that Souma was never the hero of the story. He was always the Demon King, the ultimate villain which hardworking heroes faced at the end of their journeys, whose skills and destructive power were unfair and always a total surprise.
Mana reluctantly agreed to taste Souma's dish too. She reacted with surprise to the flavor bombs too. While Saiba ranted about how a pathetic loser like Souma couldn't possible defeat him, Mana couldn't contain her Gifting and the entire stadium, culinary students too, all lost their clothes. How were the judges going to score this bout? Thanks for the sexy cliffhanger.
