Filler within Filler Shippuuden continues. Tsunade reads Jiraiya's manuscript as it describes the Masked Man's relationship to Konoha and Neji.

Still no luck. It looks like we'll be following this made up story within a dream for the whole Fall season. The introduction of Orochimaru and Jiraiya within his own story pretty much confirms all that.

 

I have a sneaking suspicion that this one-eyed Byakugan man is going to be revealed as Neji's presumed dead father. I'm sure the lesson Neji learned about changing his destiny from Naruto is going to be a big deal here.

 

Oh. So Team JIraiya is on a job interview with Akatsuki. That's why their robes don't have the red clouds yet.

 

Wouldn't it have been better if Ino took over the mind of the big salamander instead of the little boy it swallowed? I thought that was supposed to be an easier thing to do for the mind transfer jutsu.

 

If both Jiraiya and Orochimaru are going to be in this story, won't Tsunade have a larger role in it too at some point? I can only hope JIraiya writes her into a sexy/embarrassing situation to provoke another response out of the one reading the manuscript.

 

In a meta way it would be interesting to note how Tsunade's dream of reading a new Jiraiya story showed what kind of story was her ideal. Unfortunately, all I'm picking up is the possibility that Tsunade is a dreadful storyteller.
