Filler Shippuuden continues. The kids in Jiraiya's story come across an empty village and an enemy group calling themselves Akatsuki.
Episode 434 - "The Jiraiya Ninja Scrolls: Naruto the Hero - Team Jiraiya"
Meh.
We're rapidly approaching filler levels of endless curry wars. We're not yet in the realm of a big fur ball peeing on Naruto's back, but I can see it on the horizon. This story needs to end quickly now.
Heh.
At least Naruto was able to get out of HIdan's curse trap quickly by knocking him out of his ritual circle.
About the only chuckle I got out of the whole episode was JIraiya inserting himself as some super celebrity.
Now we know why Konan made a big paper toad - to introduce their little group as Team Jiraiya!
Tsunade had the right response.
Based on the flow of Jiraiya's story, we might have at least 2 more episodes of this crap. The only interesting thing I've seen in it has been Naruto's issue with the other kids assuming he gets special treatment because his dad is the Hokage. If I recall properly, Naruto graduated from the academy because he mastered Shadow Clones in one day. That's a jonin level jutsu, so of course the Third Hokage promoted him to genin. I guess something similar happened in Jiraiya's story, but it still doesn't explain why Minato hasn't taught Naruto any of his own jutsu. Let's just get this over with already.
