10 Second Anime - High School DxD BorN - Episode 11

With help from some Chaos Brigade members, Issei and friends search for Rias in the Dimensional Gap.

Heh.

There was a lot of talking, but not a lot of explanation. What happened to that Issei lookalike? Dunno. What's up with that red crystal that gave Rias those Red Dragon powers? Dunno. How did they know she was in the Dimensional Gap? Dunno. What did that other Satan guy do to Issei to help him? Dunno.

There was also a lot of talking about battles in the Underworld, serving as the excuse for why Sirzechs couldn't openly help his little sister, but I guess we had to take their word for it.

DxD has always been different than the other harem shows, but with all the yelling and shouting and incoherent plot development, I couldn't tell the difference.

One thing that will factor into this final act of the season is the emphasis that Rias' group has always placed on bonds instead of power. If even the bad guys talk about it, I guess we'll see how the power of FEELINGS saves the day.

How is this dragon fragment battling with the rest of the dragon going to cause Ragnarok? Dunno.

What exactly is Fafnir? I know Azazel likes gadgets, but the way Asia held it, I was reminded of those battery powered "massagers."

Geh.

On top of the rushed or just phoned in finale, there wasn't even any battle nudity. Rossweisse's eye catches had to give us the only NSFW content for the episode.

I knew I was in for total disappointment when even the panty shots were wrong.

Where was Xenovia's sporty blue underwear? Wrong!

Where were Akeno's lacy black or satin blue panties? Wrong!

I hope the B-team had to work on this episode because the A-team was working on the good stuff for the final episodes.

Hmm.

This was a middling episode at best. Too much regurgitation of all the feelings behind the assembled Gremory Household members. That stuff is normal, and somewhat satisfying in formulaic harem shows, but DxD is a harem comedy action show. Maybe because I knew this was a placeholder episode I wasn't too invested in it, but the questions that were introduced this week better have answers next week. And if they don't, I won't mind as long as they give the audience much more glorious fanservice than they did this week. I can forgive a lot if there's gratuitous nudity.
